Manual removal of EPM Add-In

I'm trying to get the EPM add-in installed on a computer and every time I run the installer, it prompts me to "upgrade" the add-in. I say yes, and the installer completes. Yet I cannot see the program in Add/Remove Software. The software will not show up as installed when the user visits the BPC area in our SAP system. It seems like there are bits of the application left behind so the installer thinks it's upgrading something that isn't there. How do you manually remove this application so that I can get it to install properly?

We are using the EPM 10 SP20 .Net 3.5 version.

Hi Kevin,

Is the EPM Add-in alraedy installed or your are installing it? Because if its a new installation then I dont remmeber it asking to Upgrade while installing! Something is wrong or missing...Can you share the screenshot??

A suggestion is to try re-installing the EPM add-in. Normally (not always), installer (as a general term) programmed with a common installer framework (like MSI, NSI, IS, or WIX) would register itself in the proper registry which leads to the entry showing up in Program Features add/remove. A forced re-installation will refresh the registry. There are cases when installer detects same files, it won't proceed. If reinstallation does not work, go to program files and program files (x86) to manually delete the folders, and go to users\<id>\AppData\Local and ..\Roaming and delete relevant sub folders. Then, try reinstallinig again.

If you are not IT savvy, better not mess up with Users folder. Give it to your IT support to fix.

Kevin, I see SAP BusinessObjects Analysis in the programs list.....have you installed Analysis for Office previously???? If yes....then you wont be able to install the EPM ADD-In separately.....which is why its asking to upgrade it but nothing will happen and the reason why you dont see the EPM Addin in the Add/Remove!

With Analysis for Office you have EPM Add-in Plug installed along with!

Office was probably upgraded at some point from 2007 to 2010. That said, I might try to strip everything Office/Office products (like Visio) out and go with 2010 only. I might give that a shot......

Looks like you have 2007 and 2010 office installed on this PC - can result in the EPM installation issues...

It's on a computer I support that's not easily available. Here is a dump of the applications installed when querying via PowerShell. And yes, I do have administrator rights on this computer as does the regular user.

In Windows programs add/remove you can see "EPM add-in for Microsoft Office" - you can remove it here!
