Hello all,
I got several of my questions related to SM and HANA answered on this forum. Thank you!
When I did the sizing of SM on HANA, it came up with 256 GB of RAM for the SM server. I know that SM is not a dual stack server on 7.2. It has separate AS ABAP and AS JAVA instances with probably database on each instance. I am trying to understand what the quicksizer is telling me here. - is it 256 GB each for ABAP and JAVA, or 128 GB each, or the 2 AS JAVA and AS ABAP installed on different instances with one HANA db of 256 GB (MCOD?). Please advise.
Thanks
I am also agree with Tom's comment.
Thanks
Yogesh

Hi Mehfil
You did a sizing through https://service.sap.com/quicksizer - HANA version?
The DB memory stated after calculating the result is normally for both AS ABAP and AS JAVA so that would represent a MCOD scenario.
A very minimalistic SolMan environment (as in empty) needs around 200GB of DB memory.
So you won't really get far with 256GB HANA instance if you would ask my opinion. You still need OS memory, application server memory (ABAP instance and JAVA instance need memory) so you'll quickly run against that limit I would think if you have some scenario's active.
Best regards
Tom
