PS-CATS Integration

Can anyone do let me understand the detailed concept of integration of CATS-PS. The customization settings for the same & Confirmation via Time sheet etc...

No actually I'm speaking about the Cats integration with PS alone. How do I integrate them & how do I customize(which setting is exactly maintained).

I know the integration of PPM-PS & cProjects-CATS.

Which makes the cats to have a PS projects in the worklist?

Hi Santosh,

let me answer your question here only.

What sort of integration you would like to achieve. I am assuming that you are aware of CAC1 and CAC2.

If you would like to bring work list of resource assignment in CAT2, you need to have network and work center assignment in PS project. You can set check mark for field with work list and from resource planning in Work list section in CAC1.

If you want to book time sheet for WBS and you are not using network in PS project, then you wont be able to bring work list in CAT 2. User can book time against WBS directly in CAT2 irrespective of resource assignment.

Once time booking and approval done, in case of network you need to run CAT5 and in case of only WBS you need to run CAT7 for confirmation in finance and PS.

Hi Pramod, thanks for the reply.

I knew most of the guys in here will know the PS concept as well, thats why I had posted it here only. That was a real help Pramod.

Now my question is, I have assigned the work center to internal activity, & in-turn I have maintained a person responsible for that work center. But I'm still unable to see the project for that resource. I have released the Activity.

Basically how do I relate this Resource with the Personnel Number?

Hi I got the HR Personnel assignment to the work center. Now I have maintained the the Employee(HR) as the person in the work center.

For this we will actually goto Change Work Center->HRMS->Assign Person from HR master to the current Work Center

Yeah Santosh,

You go it right.. in addition to this if want to plan capacities based on w/c you can maintain capacity data in capacity tab at w/c level.
