Hi,

I am in the process of upgrading from Solman 7.1 SPS14 to Solman 7.2 SPS4.

During my maintenance planner transaction, i selected Kernel 7.49 Patch 100 as this is the latest.

While the system restarted to enter the downtime phase the system did not come up.

I reverified to ensure i have downloaded the correct version of the kernel and it was correct

Then i reverted to the old version of Kernel which is 721_EXT_REL patch 500 and system started.

Does anyone had the similar issue, or Kernel 7.49 is not applicable for Solution Manager 7.2

Why did you switch the kernel to 721_EXT_REL patch 500? Have you read the Solution Manager 7.2 related notes to understand more about the product?

Are you following the upgrade guide? Did the upgrade tool throw an error for you to take this action? Your issue lies somewhere else. You need to check the upgrade logs or if the upgrade stopped with an error and it says that it failed to start the instance then you should check the work process trace files or supply them to assist you.

Just to confirm:

my Solution Manager 7.2 SP04 is running on 7.49 SP100, so there are no issues running the system with this kernel.

So as Reagan mentioned, your issue lies somewhere else.
