Is there a Business Role or Nav Bar Profile cache?

I have been making changes to a custom Nav Bar profile, but the changes I am making are not appearing when I am logging in with my test user.  I have a custom business role assigned to my test user that uses the custom nav bar profile, but it seems as though no matter what change I make none are taking effect.  Is there some kind of cache that needs to be cleared in order for the changes to take effect or is it just a waiting game?

HI Jon

i don't think so  there is specifically any cache concentrating on the NavBar or Business Role.

one thing you can check is go to SM04 and check if you have multiple sessions of the same Transaction is opened just close all.

Make all the changes to be done in NavBar and save it and check it.

reply if you have doubts.

Thanks & Regards

Ron.

Ron,

Thanks for the info.  I didn't think that there was, but I think my problem is related to my Business Role or perhaps the way I'm assigning it to the user.  With my custom business role I have nothing in my navigation bar regardless of which navigation bar profile I assign to the role.

Jon

Hi Jon,

It could also be the case where the user is not having the required authorizations. Please check.

Hi Jon,

I faced a similar issue a while back. This is the link to the thread.

It may help you. It was an authorization issue. I used transaction ST01 and checked out the return code on my component. I noticed that the visible links had return code 0 while the ones that were not visible had return code 4. I then got the Basis guys to give me the required authorizations.

Neena,

Thanks for the tip.  After running a trace in ST01 it is absolutely authentication problems.  I am seeing a ton of authentication errors.  My errors do seem to be a bit different than what you describe, though.  Instead of RC=4, I am seeing mostly RC=12.

Jon

Hi Jon,

After changing Nav Bar profile have you adjusted Work Centers or Logical links in perticular business role such that it will be visible?

Make sure your custom business role has correct profile type i.e. CRM WebClient Business Role and correct layout & technical profile, also pfcg role assigned should be some UIU role.
