Crystal Reports 2008 runtime error after Excel PowerPivot installation

We recently installed PowerPivot for Excel 2010 on our Windows 7 PCs and now we're getting a C++ run-time error when trying to launch Crystal Reports 2008. Has anyone else come across this and found a solution? Uninstalling CR 2008 and reinstalling it didn't help us.
