Linking two webi reports - Database Error unable to bind to configuration object

Hi,

I am trying to add a hyper link to one of the columns in a webi report and link another WEBI document. The linked document should show the data related to the column value clicked. I  checked the url and it seems to be passing is passing the correct value for the prompt value but when the linked document is trying to open, it throws the following error:  The underlying database is Sql erver 2008. We have BO 4.0 FP3 installed. I had created a mandatory prompt created in the linked document for that column. I would appreciated any help.

Hi

What is the O/S for your BO server ?

Are you able to run any webi report on the server ?

Are you able to run the mentioned report on a BO client ?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying back.

It's VM - windows 2008 but

Yeah, I am able to run WEBI reports on this server and able to run both the reports individually on the WEBI Rich Client.

On the server do these two reports run individually ? Does the second report run when you refresh it by using the value you want to pass in the hyperlink ?

What is the syntax of the hyperlink?

Have you got any screenshots ?

I am able to run both the reports individually. I tried hard coding the prompt value for the second report and it brings up the data. I checked the URL and it's passing the parameter value as well. The second report tries to refresh and throws the above error. Below is the URL sent from the first report.

http://servername/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=Ad2qLkReSo5MnrY4m4F1...

I just replaced my server name with 'servername'. I can get you the screenshots if you could provide me your email?

Thanks,

Kavitha

Hi

I have checked the syntax of your opendoc according to the one in the manual

http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir4/en/xi4_opendocument_en.pdf

and it does not seem the same (see to start page 21 onwards where there are samples of the syntax and the single elements that have to form it )

The workflow suggested by Sai should be the one alternatively to follow as it should create the syntax automatically.

F.

Hi Kavitha,

Check whether my comment helps you or not.

As per my understanding, you are trying to link two Reports A and B from the Launch Pad. Just open Report 'A' > right click on the field where you are suppose to link Report 'B' > Add hyperlink > choose necessary options > Select HTML for opening the second report on new tab> Save and Now try opening the Report 'A'.
