Access of SAP Enterprise Portal through mobile

Hi Experts,

My client is looking for accessing Enterprise Portal from mobile.

I just want to know whether it is possible to give access of EP through mobile and what all browsers (versions) are supported?

Do we have any pre-requisites or points to consider what type of applications can be accessed through mobile using EP?

I'm wondering what sources you looked at before posting the question. There is a lot of information available on how to mobilize SAP Portal and what are the prerequisites. You weren't able to find anything or the results did not help you?

Hi,

I am basically looking to have the access of portal through Mobile browser.

By Mobile browser here i mean to say default browser which are provided and supported by Smart Phone like Blackberry, Apple and Android based Smart phones, which supports both HTTP and HTTPS.

In the same way as we are accessing portal through either IE or Chrome or Firefox browser.

I am not looking for Portal on Device option here.

So using mobile browser will i be able to access Portal functionality like UWL, ESS, BI Reports, BO Reports, Webdynpro ABAP / JAVA Application and ITS Services as the same we are able to access it through Desktop or Laptop windows IE browser or Chrome or Firefox browser.

Hope i am able to clarify about my requirement.

Back to your question: Did you take a look at the resources available her on SCN? You question is not unique and was raised  and answered several times before.

Have you tried to access the portal using a mobile browser? You do not need to buy a physical device, there are many emulators available.

Hi Deep,

Please also remember that you must make sure that the application you deliver to the mobile client via the mobile portal framework must also be optimized for the mobile device the portal provides a nice mobile framework but the content (ess, mss, uwl or whatever) must also work on mobile devices the portal will not change the content to make it mobile enabled.
