The cube was loaded previously with data, then update rules deactivated and deleted. Data will exist in cube from previous load. However, update rules will be needed to update cube.

it could be that the updat rules were deleted. you could still find out the data loads and the request details in the manage tab. That will give you an idea of the data updates done before.

Hi,

Every Cube contains UPDATE RULES. Remember the flow of data into any data target.

SourceSystem ---> Transfer Structure/Rules ---> Communication Structure ---> Update Rules ---> Data Target.

Hi Arun,

The requests are described as not using infopackage and using APO Request. I am not using APO though.

Hi Pascal,

Seeing the APO request is normal of a transactional cube, it doesn't mean that the data is coming from APO.

Pascal,

BPS also uses request names APO* so you have a transactional cube for BPS, or APO (maybe even CRM?).

If so there are some planning layouts or functions in BPS that populates the cube with data.

Hope this helps,

Hi!

If the infocube is transational, you should find an option when doing administration on it (right-click on rsa1, infoproviders) than enables it to be loaded like a normal cube(with update rules) or to be planned (BPS input);

Otherwise, the cube is a normal one; and the implementation is incomplete or someone wanted to kept the cube from being further uploaded!

Go figure!

Also you can check in the request log, if you have a log, it was made via upadate rules. If it was made by BPS, the system will not identify Infosource or Datasource on the request!

Hi Pascal,

Worse case, a custom ABAP Program Inserted Records to the CUBE's fact table.

Hi Pascal,

Can it be that this cube is of type "transactional" (e.g. for BPS)? So this way, a cube can be directly 'planned' instead of 'loaded'. No underlying update-rules are necessary then.

Kind regards,

Laurens.
