Prompt error (ERR_WIS_30270) in BI Mobile

Hello,

I have a WebI report with 3 prompts (two varchars and one date) that is working fine on Launch Pad.

I can properly select values for all 3 prompts and the report works accordingly.

I then proceeded to test it in the BI Mobile app for iOS.

The report looks perfectly ok in BI Mobile and will even properly display all 3 prompts (with the values saved from the last refresh I had done in LaunchPad).

I can even change the values of the 2 varchar prompts and run the report again, it will properly reexecute the query and return the expected output.

However, I'm having problems with the Date prompt.

Changing its value and refreshing the report will promptly return an error.

ERR_WIS_30270

An internal error occurred while calling ‘answerPromptsEx’ API.

I suspect it is some incompatibility between the native iOS date prompt and the date format that WebI expects, but I couldn't find any information on how to correct it.

Software versions:

BI 4.0 SP4 (14.0.4), build 738

SAP BO Mobile app 4.2.5 (latest available so far in the App Store)

iPad 2 with iOS 5.1.1

Searching for notes didn't return anything helpful on a first look.

I just wanted to check with the BO experts whether this is a known error before chiming in with the support team.

Thank you very much,

Henrique.

Ok this was fast. LOL

Immediately after posting here I noticed that, even though my iPad is in English, the date format was still displayed in Brazilian format. Then I went to the iOS settings and changed my locale from Brazil to US, retried and BAM! It worked! 🙂

Apparently there is a little bug in the BI Mobile app that is not currently taking the locale into consideration for date format conversion prior to passing it to the prompt. Needs to be corrected..

Thanks a lot!

Henrique.

And I suppose the best place for this discussion would be the BI Mobile space:

If any mod can move it, I'd appreciate.
