How to identify system copy or fresh installation?

How can we differentiate whether it is system copy or fresh installation?

Absolutely a copied system contains lots of data of the original system. For example users, customizing, idocs, change documents, whatever you imagine.

On the other hand a fresh installation is just ... fresh, meaning no data, nothing there.

    Hi Aravind,

    1. go to se 16 and enter table TPFHT

    2. Select the  first version of default profile.

    3. It will show you the data when it was installation date or when it  was created.

    Alternatively,

If it is a system copy, click on any version of the default profile, you will find a  "Server Name". It is a different field which will give you a clue that it is a system copy.

    Cheers,

    Rod

    Hi,

If System copy is done in proper ways ,with every post installation steps performed in right ways. It is not possible to conclude whether system is copied or fresh installation .

If not, then then tables like TPFHT , RSBKDTP , MONI , OSMON , TPFET  and T-code like SM59 , SP02 or even SCC4 can give you hint about system copy.

    Cheers,

    Deepak

How simple it can get !!

Fresh installation is going to hardly have  any data it it.. Check your transaction data , customizing ,master data etc.. If you find nothing or hardly anything ..well ya it is fresh installation

A system copy is obviously from a used system which is expected to have some amount of data.

So the resultant system would also contain that data !!

Check if you have a System Copy folder under global directory.

That is not standard stuff. Organization specific checks can't be used ias a standard in generic situations !

      Regards.
