Dear Venu,

Copy rules are used if you change one of the fields in a master contract the system will only copy the proposal fields into the lower level contract if the values of both the master and lower-level contract are equal before the master contract was changed. This is reffered to as standard application logic.

Copy rule:-

A - Indicates the contract must have the same value in the field for the higher- and lower-level contract.Should these fields not match, that is , if you change the value in the field of the lower contract , the refference will no longer be carried out.thus the contract will not be allowed to linked.

B - Indicates the value in the field is to be copied from the master contract and cannot be changed in the lower-level contract. Thus, fields deviating in the lower-level contract are not allowed.

C - Indicates proposal fields. This occurs when the master contract copies or proposes the data into lower-level contract. However, the value of these fields are allowed to be overwritten in the lower level contract.

You can refer the screen for better understanding.

Regards,

Sambit.

When you create lower level contract and give master contract as reference, a check is made against certain fields (fields you list in checking rule) and action is taken.
