Afaria 7 Self-Service Portal Enrolment Problem 'invalid portal enrollment code'

Former Member

Hi There,

We've configured the Afaria 7.0 appliance within our landscape for discovery/demo purposes and am trying to set up the End Use Self Service Portal.

We've also configured the appliance with the relay server to allow us to access the Afaria server externally securely.

I'm encountering a problem during enrollment through the SSP wizard. Every time I hit the 'Apply code' button and get taken to the Afaria client for enrollment, I get the following message 'invalid portal enrollment code'. The code itself works i.e. when I try to enroll manually I can do so, its when I configure the SSP to use it that the problems start to occur. I have tried both iOS and Android devices to no effect.

I've extracted the following logs from the iPhone Configuration Utility:

Sep 14 14:26:49 unknown Afaria[418] <Warning>: connection:didReceiveResponse: http 412

Sep 14 14:26:49 unknown Afaria[418] <Warning>: HomeViewController enrollmentCodeSeedDataDidLoadWith [1505] and http: 412

Sep 14 14:26:49 unknown Afaria[418] <Warning>: Server rejected activation/enrollment code.http: 412

Which clearly show that the server is rejecting the enrollment code (even though I've proved it works!). Also the AIPS website appears to be returning HTTP response code 412 where it should be 200.

Has anyone experienced this problem before and can offer any insights?

Many thanks,

Dan

I have same Issue for android.

I create an enrollment code for portal and 15 days expiration.

Bur when I try to enroll a new device on self-service portal I get:

'invalid portal enrollment code'.

But if I write down this enrollment code into web.config page of ssp.. it works.

What is wrong ??

Hi,

are you enrolling your device using SSP or directly using enrollment code?

How is configured the code in Afaria admin (portal only?!)?

If it is configured as an portal only code, you must update web.config to enable it in SPP.

Otherwise, unset the flag in your enrollment policy and use it in the two flavours.

Hi All,

I have the same problem after upgrading an Afaria Server to SP1, can someone explain this kind of error and a solution?

I've done the same steps used in other installations/upgrades without any issue.

Can someone help us to find out a solution?

Best regards.

Hi Shival,

increasing SSP timeout is the trick, but, why we have this behaviour after upgrading to SP1?!

Thanks.

Hi Andrea,

One possible cause is the created enrollment code via the portal expired and the solution is to increase the Self-service portal expiration time
