AIX - Permissions on defaultTrace and Application log incorrect

Hello all,

We run a double stack (abap+java) NetWeaver 7.3 PI system, DB2 on AIX.  For some reason, intermittently, defaultTrace and applications.*.log files are created with file permissions which are different than the umask of user <sid>adm.

There are no umask commands in /etc/profile nor in the profiles for <sid>adm.

Has anyone ever seen this happen?  If so, any idea how to correct it?

Thanks,

Judith

    Hi Judith,

Can you put a screenshot here for clear understanding?

    • Hi Surojit,

      Here's a screenshot.

      umask of <sid>adm is 002

In ls -ltr of  the log directory, we can see that sometimes, the permissions are correct but mostly, they appear to have the default umask (077).

      Thanks,

      Judith

    Hello Judith

Have you tried to set umask in ~/.bash_profile ? And restart server to see the changes.

    Regards,

    Surojit
