Hi Guy,
I am new to SAP BI ,I haven't had that much of hands on experience in it.
The one thing I am used to is data load/monitoring, and making small changes to an already existing Transformation.
I came across the words:"SAP-BW Back End-Data Modeling / Development", and I don't know what this exactly means.
So can you please help me by explaining what "SAP-BW Back End-Data Modeling / Development" is, and please give me some info on which part in BI is Back-End and which is Front-End.
Thanks,
Vignesh
Hi
Datasources, extraction, data loading, transformations, transfer-rules, update-rules, DTP, Info package, Infosource, info object and info providers are all a part of back-end. In other words, a user who accesses BW for business information can't have access to all the above. He has access to data only. There are like the parts of an automobile.
On the other hand, BEx Analyser, WAD, Business Objects are front end which helps the user to access the data in a formatted way. After we do the data-modelling in the backend, we create a front end GUI for the user to understand the information of the business. This is something like the car dashboard where you have all the information of the car.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Murthy
