INFO[E] 2005-06-16 11:53:49

File system export (share) saploc does not exist.

On running the installer it is extracting / created the folder C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\NW04SR1\WEBAS_COPY\ONE_HOST. I have installed Java on D:\j2sdk1.4.2_08.

I've seen a few other posts on this topic, but no fix/solution found so far.

Hello All,

I have received a process to get this to install from a developer in Waldorf.

As a note to Kathleen, I received this from my OSS Issue. The developer was very interested to get the install to work properly. OSS does seem to be responsive.

Here are the steps I received:

1. set Windows Timezone to GMT+1 with daylight savings time before proceeding.

(they are working on the fix for this.)

2. Now to verify that SADB does not exist, it must be uninstalled deleting all data if any exists

Open a command shell in Windows

type: dbmcli -u control,control -d J2E db_stop

type: dbmcli -u control,control -d J2E db_drop

type: sdbuninst -all

choose 'y' in the shell that starts up

type: rmdir c:\sapdb /s /q

NOTE:

if windoews cannot find the program dbmcli or sdbuninst, you will need to maintain path settings:

in a command shell type: set PATH=C:\sapdb\programs\bin;C:\sapdb\programs\pgm;%PATH%

3. Replace the file <unzip_location>\NWSneakPreviewSP11\SAP_NetWeaver_04_SR_1_Installation_Master_DVD_ID_51030843\IMo1_NT_I386\SAPINST\NT\i386\NW04SR1\WEBAS\COPY\ADA\control.xml with an updated file he sent me. If you will email me I will send the file to you. It is >3 MB so I cannot post it here.

4. Delete any new users you have created at the Windows level.

5. Restart a new installation. It will create all the users for you; and ask you to provide passwords

6. I took the default memory setting and set the log side to 10240 MB and the DB size to 20480 MB (just guesses).

Best regards,

Rich

Hi,

had the same messges and solved the problem by first deleting user accounts j2eadmin etc that were left from a previous installation.

Then I added additional rights to the administrators group : "create a token" object and "create permanent shares" in the system administartion, local security policy.

Then the installation went through without further problems.

I recommend you to uninstall the whole sneak preview including MaxDB. After that you should remove J2EAdm and SAPServiceJ2E and saploc share.

If possible, please try it on the fresh WinXP SP2. Anyway, my suggestion is based on Win 2003.

I am still not getting this to work either. The reply stating that the j2eadm and SAPServiceJ2E user are created is not always true. They might be created, but if you have password restrictions on your system then they may not be created. If you look back in this thread, it is acceptable to pre-create these IDs.

I am in the ADM200 course right now, and even the SAP folks in the class cannot answer why this does not install correctly. This is a very concerning point as we are not getting access to any Installation documents or guidance regarding how to perform and/or troubleshoot this install.

Further, I have even opened an OSS issue regarding this... 2 weeks later, 1st line and 2nd line support have no idea. I have been "assured" that this has gone to the developers, but I have gotten no feed back.

It appears that this is a serious problem and one that noone has an answer for. I recommend that as many of us as possible open OSS issues regarding this and through sheer numbers we may get a solution.

Thanks,

Rich

Hi Rich,

You'll probably find you won't get much further with your OSS message, as these Sneak Preview versions are un-supported trial versions of the software (see any of the SDN evaluation license texts). I will forward this thread/feedback to the developers who put together the Sneak Preview and see if they can help you all with a solution. My apologies for the inconvenience!

Try installing the SP11 but for the passwords enter a complex password.

The easy way to check if the password is working or not is create a dummy account and try setting the password. If the console complains the change the password. Once you get the satisfied password, delete the account and use the same password for the installation.

I am having exactly the same problem. Right after entering passwords for user (j2eadm...). I had to create them myself to make passwords complient with local security policy. I was thinking something is wrong with userids I created but I guess not.
