PO host name change - Impacts on certificate ?

Hi All,

We are doing an alias change for PO instance which will move it from xx:port.com to yy:port.com. Has anyone been involved in similar activity and can share some do's and don't, some lessons learnt, or tips and tricks on replacing the certificates with new host ?

Thanks in advance,

Vibhu,

When there is a change in Hostname then only SSL certificates gets affected.

  • Check existing how the SSL authentication was taking place i.e was it through web dispatcher or directly from PI.
  • If from PI then the SSL certificates needs to be re-generated then again the process of CA signing etc has to be done.

No Tricks for this i guess 😛

Thanks for your reply Manoj,

It was a direct Java AS earlier, but in the new hostname a web dispatcher has been added in front of the AS, which complicates the situation slightly. Do you have any past experience to share when WD is involved ?

When you have a WD before PI then SSL certificates needs to be generated at WD end as Authentication takes place from WD , and further from WD the calls has to be re-directed to PI system.
