RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE; does nothing on stanby DB

90 Views

Hi,

Problem:

Recently I made full offline copy of PRD database. Also created stndby pfile and controlfile. Copied those over to Standby machine.

On standby I modified pfile to correspond to standby settings and made new spfile from pfile.

However when I put commands:

startup nomount;

alter database mount standby database;

ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE DISCONNECT FROM SESSION;

and hope that It will recover from archivelogs - no such thing happens.

When querying SELECT PROCESS, STATUS, THREAD#, SEQUENCE#, BLOCK#, BLOCKS FROM V$MANAGED_STANDBY; outcome is always the same:

PROCESS STATUS THREAD# SEQUENCE# BLOCK# BLOCKS

--------- ------------ ---------- ---------- ---------- ----------

ARCH CONNECTED 0 0 0 0 ARCH CONNECTED 0 0 0 0 MRP0 WAIT_FOR_LOG 1 102662 0 0

Could you pint me please to right direction or maybe you have some ideas?

(In /oracle/PRD/oraarch/PRDarch/ directory I have files from 1_102618_642373988.dbf to 1_102719_642373988.dbf and everyone of them is: -rw-rw---- 1 oraprd dba )

Br,

Kristjan T.
