Generating Consolidated Cash Flow Statement after Consolidating Investments?

Former Member

Dear All,

I need to prepare Consoloidated Cash Flow statement after performing Consolidation on Investments. I am a techincal guy and new to the functional side of BPC.

Can any one throw some light on this? On how to prepare the consolidated CF statement? I have done consolidation of investments for BS accounts alone. For consolidated CF statment, do I need to use P&L accounts along with BS account? Or, is the consolidated CF  statement derived from P&L accounts alone? How can I derive the cash flow(consolidated) from such accounts?

I have gone thru formal BPC training. But, still staring at how to do this as this involves functional side?

Would appreciate your help on this. Any hints/URL to any info/article on this would be greatly appreciated. Have done google on this and I can see lots of sample consolidated cash flow statement. But, I am unable to connect the dots - starting from ACCOUNT dimention, setting up the data, etc...

Thank you.

Regards,
Peri

Hi Peri,

Cash Flows are usually generated using the data from the other accounts (PL or BS or some data from some movements).

This is generally configured using the account transformation rules, which decides which data should flow from which account to which CF account. Most of these details can will be standard, and can be provided by any functional guy. However, you will need to ensure that each line item of the CF statement should get data from some or the other account.

Hope this helps.
