Hello All,
I am configuring Consolidation Central and I am not sue what is the advantage of this over the BPF. In BPF we can define all the required steps, do step-by-step configuration. In Consolidatin Central also, we can do the same but less detail.
Can you please help me to understand who will be using what?
I don't think we have any seperate Web interface like in 7.5 for BPF in 10.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Sonti.
Hi Nagendra,
The purpose of BPF is not limited to only running the consolidation engine. Before running the consolidation engine, the data needs to be loaded, the currency conversion should take place, intercompany eliminations should happen, consolidation engine should run, reports should be viewed to see the results, etc. All this needs to be done using the steps in BPF. But we cannot do everything using the consolidation central.
Consolidation central is just the interface to run the consolidation engine.
Let me give you an example. For viewing the final results, you will create a report in excel, and then you will add a step in the BPF which will take the user to this report. Similarly, the consolidation central is just the interface, and you will add this interface as one of the steps in your BPF.
I hope you got the point.
