Hi All,
We have a situation where, two parts were created with wrong Bae UOMs . The UOMs need to be corrected. However, the parts have their own BOMs and also have been assigned in another BOM. Please note that the BOMs were created with Change numbers and when I try to delete the BOMs (both parent BOM and also the BOMs where the parts are assigned as components) using new Change numbers, it still does not allow us to change the Base UOM referring to the BOMs still existing in the system. Is archiving the BOMs,the only option here?
Hi,
to change the Bae UOMs for a material, you also need to have no stock on the period Month-1 and no stock on the actual period for that material.

Hi,
For changing the Bill of Material check the below points:
1. Check If no BOM and Routing exists.
2. No standard cost estimate must exist for the current or future period
3. No production orders must exist
4. No planned independent requirements must exist
5. Also check table entry for BOM and Routing.
If you have checked everything and still not able to change BUOM then the only option remains is to archiving the BOM and routing.

If the entry in tables like MAST, MAPL exists for that material, then system won't let you change the BUoM. Those checks are necessary to avoid inconsistencies (short dumps).
