sy-subrc usage in new generation abap

Hi All,

after going thru few technlogies like c++, java, and then abap, rather abap-objects.

in abap, i saw that sy-subrc is used extensively. eg. if sy-subrc <> 0, etc, after read stmts, select stmts, find stmts etc.

got few queries:

is it possible to implement abap coding without using sy-subrc.

is it recommended to use sy-subrc in the new generation abap objects.

It's not a question of recommendation or old/new generation...SY-SUBRC is set by many ABAP commands, so for proper programming logic you will need to check its value time and again.

Please read ABAP online documentation before posting further.
