Actions:Schedule Indexing grayed out (unavailable for connectors)

Hi Folks,

I have launched the Connector Administration Cockpit for the first time and created a connector for MATERIAL.  The next step is to schedule indexing, however this option seems to be grayed out in the cockpit.  When I select other connectors that are available by default (software component SAP Enterprise Extension - Vendor Master Data for example), the Actions button is grayed out too.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?

I have followed the prerequisite steps in sap help: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/f1/2e6f2de1424beda6286370406e7fcc/frameset.htm and have connected AS ABAP to TREX.

Whats the status of Connector?? Ideally it should be 'Prepared ' status.

If its Error while Preparing or something.. recreate connector and wait for sometime..refresh browser and then Check status..

The connectors are in Active Status.  I saw that the connector had the NEW and PREPARING status before it activated.  The Job log shows that no errors occurred, just a bunch of warning to do with authorization 

Is it the case that indexes are initially scheduled when you create a new connector (in the preparing phase) therefore the Actions button is grayed out?

The moment you click Create Connector of any object

two possible scnerios

1. New>Error while Preparing--Generally Modelling issue

2. New > Preparing > Prepared--Once it has status Prepared then you select connector and click

Schedule Indexing

Again two possible scenarios

1. Error while Indexing--Extraction/Modelling issue

2. Indexing>Active-Once it has status Active means You can start search for particular objects.

Do you see any numbers in 'Optimized' column in esh_cockpit ? if it has any numbers means you will find some results in esh_search_test.
