Restricting hierarchy in input help

Hi

I am using an infoobject A with a hierarchy on it in a query.I am usng a hierarchy node variable(with manual input) on this infoobject.

When I run this query,I get Variable Input option for this infoobject.When I click on Input help for this variable,its showing the whole company's hierarchy structure.I would like to see only certain part of the whole hierarchy structure as that is more relevant for our organisation.I donot like to see whole company's hierarchy structure as it becomes tiresome to always navigate to our own departments organisation structure within this whole company hierarchy structure.How can I achieve this?

Choices are

1. Making a few favorites - nodes that you use more often. Different favorites for different departmental key users.
2. Making a local view on the bex query in use and save for different key users.
3. Making authorization on the Info-Object - as told by Harish. This may reduce the nodes in the hierarchy.

A remark

A hierarchy with too many nodes (>10) under one parent is not a good design. Off course, it is a debatable thing.

Options 2&3 are ruled out for me.How can I create favourites as you said in option 1.

Hi Simon,

The best option and the standard procedure is creating authorizations.

It's efficient. We are using authorizations for the requirement as of yours.

Let me know what is difficulty in implementing authorizations.

Authorisations are not possible because many other areas are using same infoobject.So I cant make it authorisation relevant.

Hi Simon,

You can create authorizations for this infoObhect hierarchy and in bex query designer, you can process this infoObject via authorizations.

There are many documents available on how to create authorizations in help.sap

Implementing the above will satisfy your requirement.
