Hi,
I'm using BI4.0 SP2 Patch 16. I'm using Profit Center in a Webi report. I have two different hierarchies for Profit Centre that I want to use in different reports.
In Webi, if I create a query filter on Hierarchy A, then all nodes below that will be returned in the query (that is, the selected node and its descendants)
If I create a query filter on Hierarchy B, then that node and one level below will be returned in the query (that is, the selected node and its immediate children)
I like how it works for Hierarchy A, and want to make hierarchy B behave in that way, so that whenever I filter by a node in the hierarchy, I get all descendants.
Note this is for a prompt, I'm not using the member selector. This is all in one BEx query. I'm using a BICS connection. I don't know much about BW hierarchies.
Any help would be great.
Hello David,
We do have a property at BEx query level for the hierqarchy object.
The property is used to restrict the level of hierarchy to be displayed at the result.
Change the property to show all the levels of hierarchy.
Thanks,
Vinay

Hi,
the property in the BEx query mentioned in the post aboved is called "expand to level".
In case you are using a Hierarchy that was not used in the BEx query, then fall back to setting in BW backend, Hierarchy maintenance in transaction RSH1.
Starting from BI4.0 SP4, there is a new property in the member selector in webi where you can filter a Hierarchy by levels.
Best regards,
Victor
Hi,
In BW, what is the equivalent setting to the Expand to Level setting in BEx?
In rsh1 > My Hierarchy > Hierarchy Attributes > Drilldown Start Lev. I see 00. Should this be set to something else?
I discovered that one of the hierarchies was selected in BEx and 'expand to level' overridden, hence the difference in behaviour between the two. Thanks for pointing that out Vinay. Ultimately I want to set this for all hierarchies.
