Can anyone plz differentiate Requisitioner, Buyer and Purchaser.
My knowledge is Requisitioner is who creates and shopping cart and Buyer who creates a PO...
Is Buyer and Purchaser are same?
and what are all the activities we can do in Sourcing Cockpit...
who logs into sourcing cockpit -- buyer?
Thanks in advance
Thank you very much for the reply gurus

Hi Sanjay,
Your understanding is correct.
Requisitioner is the person who is looking to buy items. This can be anyone from the organization including admins who purchases their office supplies, Plant manager or machine operator who purchases for maintain equipment, etc.
Purchaser are mostly consider Operational Buyer who handles the requsitions which come from requester and convert into Purchase order based on existing Contracts.
Buyer are mostly consider Strategic Purchaser who deals with Contract negotiation and making new deal with various options such as Bidding, Auction, RFQs etc.
Both Purchase and Buyer name used interchangeably based on how business is handling. To be specific to your question Buyer or Purchase who handles Sourcing cockpit i.e. finding a new source of supply consider as Strategic Purchaser/ buyer. They can activate RFQ (Request for Quotation), Bid, Auction or Contract creation from Sourcing cockpit.
Hope this helps.
Thank you
Ritesh

Hi,
Requestioner :
shopping cart is dedicated to semi-professional or professional users like secretaries, purchasing assistants, or purchasers who create shopping carts on a regular basis. All information in this transaction isavailable on one screen. This includes detailed information like source of supply,
cost assignment, and other data.
Purchaser :
There are two different Purchaser roles in SRM:
The Operational Purchaser (SRM role: /SAPSRM/OP_PURCHASER) is
responsible for daily work, for example, incomplete local purchase orders,
sourcing processes, bids, and auctions.
The Strategic Purchaser (SRM role: /SAPSRM/ST_PURCHASER) is
responsibile for strategic issues, such as creation of contracts, global outline
agreements, and vendor lists.
Regards,
Naga.
