Partial confirmation in a Make To Order scenario (MTO)?

Hi

We are setting up a Make-to-order scenario. We dont have any issues in creating the order and generating the Process order automatically. But the thing is the schedule lines are not redetermined based on the Process order confirmation.

For example, the ordered quantity is 10 and process order is also created for 10. However the process order is partially confirmed for 5 quanitities and we excpect three schedule lines.

Original schedule lines:

Del.date     Order Quan     Confirm Qty     Comm Qty

15/08/12     10                         0                    0

25/08/12     0                           0                    10

Process order is partially confirmed for 5 qty on 22/08/12 and i expect three schedule lines like below:

Del.date     Order qty     Confirm Qty     Comm Qty

15/08/12     10                    0                    0

22/08/12     0                      5                    0

25/08/12     0                      0                    5

But scheduling is not happening as above and the original schedule remains as it is. I have tried different settings in ATP Scope of check but it doesnt work.

I am aware that MTO orders are not considered for backorder rescheduling. But its there a way to re-schedule or re-run availability based on the Process order confirmation?

This should have been asked in Production Planning forum as they would be able to help you out a lot faster then SD guys.  See if this link is of any use http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ewm70/helpdata/en/4c/6af71b832821d1e10000000a42189c/frameset.htm

Per OSS 1669471  - Make-To-Order Sales Orders Can't be Recheduled, you may need to use transaction code CO06.

Thanks Siva.. we tried that too. Though we were able to change the committed qty and save it, it NEVER ACTUALLY gets saved. Meaning, when we go to CO06 again it still shows the previous state. Neither was this updated in sales order with extra schedule line.

Gobinath,

Are you talking about the partial confirmation of a process order?  This by itself has no impact on ATP.  You must also have received the materials into FGs stock, as Sales order Stock that is relevant to the Sales order item.

You can set up ATP so it will consider Production (process) orders

You can set up ATP so it will consider Released Production  orders

You can set up ATP so it will consider no Production orders.

The mere confirmation of production orders is unrelated to confirmation of Sales orders.  For a production order, either the production order itself, or Sales Order stock receipts resulting from a production order, will be considered.

If you have received sales order stock, you should be able to confirm against the stock.  Do you have Sales Order stock on hand?

Depending upon the strategy you are using, if you create a second process order, with the same Sales order reference, you can then manually create and confirm multiple schedules in the Sales order item.  VA02.
