One of my customer is using  3rd party product called shiphazmat system, customer would like to know  how similar IATA configuration will be maintained in the new system on the packing configuration for each shipment depending on the Net Weight of the shipment. Can this be done in SAP DG or SVT?

and read cross only. Therefore:

EH&S SVT => not suitabe in your case

EHS&S DG => right solution to be used

a.) with EH&S DG you can generate data which can be used e.g. in SAP SD process to print similar "documents" or you can use WWI technique to do so

b.) IATA is a little bit complexer than other DG regulations but you can use EH&S DG (in my opinion; because this is standard if yo use SAP and are acting/working in the chemical sector) if you have a proper set up of LS_UN_SUB, DG_CL_SUB, REAL_SUB, Material (packed and unpacked ) etc.

But there are "but's": http://www.bureaudg.com/software/shiphazmat.asp decribes that this software can calculate the "Q" Value (I have only read cross regarding the solution provided). This is discussed in a parallel thread of this FORUM. Result. With recent EH&S DG version you can not calculate the "Q" value but you can may be think about extensions (which you need to design by your own);

PLease refer to online SAP EH&S DG help regarding the topics "net weight" etc. Here you find only ideas but these can be used as a starting point to find a solution
