SAP DIRECT PRINTING ERROR

Hello Everybody,

when we are printing through SAP directly, i'm getting an error. Kindly help me to resolve this issue.

Hello,

SAPLPD will only be supported for frontend printing in Releases < 4.6C.

For all other Releases, please note the following:

_________________________Front-end printing___________________________
- For frontend printing, customers should use access method 'G' instead of access method 'F'. See SAP note 821519 for more details.
Also fully review SAP note: 128105 Frontend printing (collective note).
_______________________________________________________________________

_______________________Server based printing___________________________
- For server-based printing via access method 'S' or 'U', you should use SAPSprint instead of SAPLPD. SAP Note 894444 has all the details. This is valid for ALL Releases.
Also be aware that SAPSprint should not be installed on frontend PCs!
It is a server tool only.

Thanks for ur support, yeah what is said is write... today morning i have changed the access method in sandbox server to 'G' and it worked fine. When i tried it in DEV and PRD, its not working... Do i need to upgrade anything...

Have you checked the Prerequisites in SAP note 821519?

Hello David,

Yes I have checked it. There are few prerequisite Like Import kernel patch, Import SAP GUI patch, Import relevant support package

SAP GUI 7.00

SAP Basis 640, 29(SP), SAPKB64029

SAP Kernel patch 640   221(Patch).

The above are my system details, Can you please tell me do i need to upgrade my Basis support package from 29 to higher level? And Please let me know, if the rest two has meet the requirement.

I think the SAPKB64029 is enough.

What error or information you got when you print via access method G in DEV and PRD?

Hello David,

My organization is not allowing to use access method 'G', so i need to use access method 'F', if i select 'F' then I'm getting the same error, you can see the screen shot attached at the original post. So what is the solution?  SAPLPD version is 6.29. Do i need to upgrade to higher version?

These are my system details,

SAP GUI 7.00

SAP Basis 640, 29(SP), SAPKB64029

SAP Kernel patch 640   221(Patch).

Hello David,

Using Access method 'F' i'm able to do this, by giving Host printer as __DEFAULT. Issue got solved.
