Hello gurus,

I'd like to ask if someone installed one of these Service Packs:

SP1 for windoes 2003

SP4 for SQLSERVER2000

I couldn;t find any information on these in SAP notes.

Furthermore, I'd like to know how these packs influence R/3 and its performance.

Please Advice,

Dimitry Haritonov

I have a WebAS 640 SP12 ABAP+J2EE system running Win2K3 SP1 system. We recently made this update to SP1 and we saw absolutely no changes or problems within our SAP system.

Hi to all,

there are two notes that are hard to find in sap notes.

notes: 30378 & 62988.

They speak about that sap supports:

windows 2003 SP1

and SQL2000 SP4 (right after a hotfix should be installed).

Kind Regards,

Hi,

the Note 62988 is correct.

there are no problems on Windows 2003 SP1 as of now.

We are runnning SAP systems on Windows 2003 SP1 without any problems.

<b>Windows 2003 SP1 will bring a host of security and bug fixes. It will also provide an unexpected performance bump, new features, and a wide range of security enhancements.

Microsoft built SP1 on the same kernel as the original software release and says that enterprises won't need to extensively test application compatibility when they upgrade to SP1.</b>

The following link will give info about Peformance of the Windows 2003 SP1

http://www.windowsitpro.com/Articles/Print.cfm?ArticleID=45246</b>;

There are no much performance improvemment in SQL 2K SP4 for 32bit.

I just upgraded to SP1 on a 2003 Enterprise server with SQL 2003 SP3 929.

Java engines will not start, dispatcher is ok but, the instances will not start.

Looks like there is a compatabilty problem with MS SQL 2000 Server with Windows 2k3 SP1. When I first installed my SQL 2000 Server and then upgraded to SP1 ... database doesn't start. Then I uninstalled SP1 and tried to start the database. It started absolutley fine.
