Hi Experts,

I facing a strange issue. when i generate RFC connection (conection type:3) with target host ( its own IP ) . then do the connection test ,
connection test is throwing an error with ERROR DETAILS: connection closed .

At OS level, i am able to ping my own IP , what could be possible reason??

My TMS configuration is also not working.

Hi Deepak,

Did you executed SECSTORE -> system data changed. You should execute the "secstore" transaction and modify old rfc configuration, if the SID and inst# is different from the source system, after the system copy.

Best is to delete all RED entries via TCODE: secstore > F8 (Execute) > Entries on right side.

Deepak,

Could you paste dev_rfc<x> and dev_rd into the message, after you execute the rfcping command at the os level on the application server.

Could you check that TCP/3300 has been allocated by another application by using "netstat"?

CAn you also share the RFC trace created during this test?

First SM59 > (from menu) RFC > Delete Trace

Run the connection test

Then, SM59 > RFC > Display Trace

Hi,

Do you see abap dump "CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_INCOMPL" in ST22? If yes, perhaps you can follow notes Note 1532825 - Deleting SECSTORE entries during system export/system copy

Hi Nicholas,

No dumps in ST22, and sm21 also have no records related to RFC.

Could you delete red items om SM59 referred in the SECSTORE and create a new test RFC connection. Additionally, check "gw/reg_no_conn_info" parameter value in the SAP profiles.

Hi,

I know this is an quite old post. Nevertheless I faced the same issue (connectin closed (no data)) with connection type 'T'. The solution was to change from unicode to non-unicode.

Best regards.

Hi Deepak.

RFC connection (T-code sm 59)

RFC connection between SAP to SAP and non SAP system.

1)1st define the Logical Systems (T-caode SALE)

  •      SID<CLNT>CLIENT NUMBER (DEVCLNT000).
  •      execute ->SALE->basic settings -> Logical System.
  •      define the logical system (<SID>CLNT000).
  •      assign logical system to the client in (T-code SCC4).

2)RFC connection

  •      execute SM59.
  •      name of the RFC connection (to identify easily provide the name of the logical system ).
  •      select connection tyep=' '(it's local =3).
  •      description abut the connection .
  •      technical settings ( Host name and instance number).
  •      select the load balancing.(if more then one instance is configured then select "yes"-provide      details of Target system ,messg serverand group.if "NO"then provide target Host name         instance number.
  •      ensure that (etc/host entries are maintained for the target system )
  • specify the gateway host and gate services
  • logon security .

Deepak,

Have you changed the local IP of your SAP System? if YES, then reboot the server one time and it will work. I face the same issue when i have re-installed my PRD on different machine with different IP then everything was working except its not registering itself in TMS. So the problem was at my DEV server end because in memory of DEV Server it didn't refresh the new IP of PRD and was using the OLD IP. So, when i reboot my DEV then everything went perfect.

Thanks,

Yasir

For TMS check permission for /usr/sap/trans directory
