Hi Meenakshi,

Have you update kernel recently,if yes

Did you execute

./saproot.sh <SID>

after you updated the BR*tools?

It seems to be due to permissions set and hence the program running under the wrong permissions.

There was a centrification which happened on October 2011, i am not sure if any changes were made to the kernel as i was not there. kindly assist me on how to proceed as i am not much experienced in SAP basis.y. please note that the brbackup had problems and recursively I provided 775 permissions to /oracle/BW3/sapbackup and the backup ran for 3 days and again it gave the error.
