Reverse Deleted Delivery Note

Dear Experts,

I am facing a unique issue. I have tried posting this on the SD Forum, but I was requested to seek help in the MM Forums too. (I'm an MM Consultant).

One of the Users created a Sales Order -f-> Delivery, on let's say 05.07.2012. In the following period, they realized this was incorrect, so hence they reverse the delivery using VL09. However, while doing VL09 the default reversal date is the current date, and without noticing this the user carried out the reversal and deleted the delivery document.

We noticed this now, and we want to reverse this wrongly posted cancellation, and do the cancellation on the date when the original delivery posting was made (to correct the impact on COGS). However, the system has no delivery note any more since it was deleted. In MB51, I can see the Material Document, and reference delivery note number, but now what would be the correct steps to carry out this posting.

Honestly, there are lots of such documents lying in the system. The only solution I can think of is:

Create a Dummy Sales Order with a dummy customer, and do the delivery again on the date at which the delivery was wrongly posted.

Then create a Return order, and do PGR, on the date at which the cancellation of the delivery should have been actually done. In this case 05.07.2012.

Can someone please help or advise if there's any other easier way, or if the steps I'm carrying out are correct.

Thanks in advance.

i think even if you do a goods issue with date in previous period, the valuation will be based on the current std price / MAP.

Hi Ajit,

The MAP will not be an issue in my case, since the MAP has not changed at all since we have batch level costing implemented here, every batch has a valuation type.

IF you are creating another delivery in july and cancelling it, won't it be just another instance without having any effect on the current cancellation?

if you are doing a PGI in the current period, i dont think you will be able to cancel it in previous period. why dont you test in test server?
