goods receipt of non valuated material

Hi  Experts,

in my company we need to record the date of the goods receipt of non valuated materials but when we do MIGO we must enter a storage location, can we not enter the storage location , if not is there any way to save the goods receipt date??

your question is not clear.

if you have a purchase order, then you have to do a goods receipt. without goods receipt you cannot have a goods receipt date in SAP.

if you have non-valuated material (type UNBW) then automatically inventory managment is mandatory.

if you do not want inventory, then you should choose a material type NLAG, this will not go into inventory and will not ask for a storage location.

i am with you, but these materials UNBW we dont storage it its dirct consume.. but we need to save the date we receive it from vendor .. is there any way rather then using IM

it is technically impossible to direct consume UNBW materials.

the value is direct consumed, but it always creates inventory, that is the natur of UNBW, and contrary to any other material type that you order with account assignment in the PO.

so it impossible to make goods receipt to unbw without storage location. so we need to make a goods issue after the receipt to clear our stock.

one last thing.. sure the GI to cost center for the UNBW materials will not generate a FI document ?

that is right, the goods issue of the inventory to cost center will not create any further FI document, because the stock is not valuated.
