Cancellation of PO GR possible with MBST but not with MIGO

When I am performing a cancellation of a just-created Goods receipt
material document, it is giving me the error "M7021 - Deficit of PU GR
quantity when I am doing the cancellation using MIGO and select the
option "Cancellation" and "Material Document".

However, I do not get any error message when doing MBST and cancelling
the material document. Both use movement type 102.

GR based Invoice verification is not setup for this vendor.

Anyone has any ideas as to why it is happening this way?

can you reproduce this error case, or was this just a one-time error?

I could imagine that MIGO may use a slightly different coding than MBST, as MIGO was developed much later than MBST.

Can it be that you used alternative units for your PO and receipt instead of base unit?

and the conversion between both units causes decimals?

I have already opened a support ticket at SAP but just wanted to be sure that it was not something that I missed.

I too have looked at this note that you mentioned, we are not having the pre-requisites mentioned in this note

      1. We do not manually change the movement type to 102. The movement type 102 is proposed by default (which should be the case, and is working as expected)

      2. We are not using goods receipt based invoice verification for our GR process

Hence I dont believe this note is relevant, and it is some other issue which SAP has to fix.

check if there are any invoices ... cancel them with mr8m and before you cancel GR... also

you will not be able to reverse the GR unless there is sufficient stock available in inventory

    refer :

    hope this helps.
