    Hi lakshmi,

    Extraction Queue:

In case of queued delta LUW's r posted to extractor queue by scheduling V3job we move the documents from Extactor queue to Delta queue and we extract LUW's from Deltaqueue to SAP BW by running Delta loadsQueued delta maintains Extractor log to handle the LUW's which r missed.

the main disadvantage here is we need to schedule a job (LBWE-Job Control) to regularly transfer thedata to BW Delta Queue. Subsequently additional monitoring of the extraction queue is required.

Extraction queue is recommended for customers with high occurrence of documents (more than 10000 document changes between delta extractions)

    Direct Delta

In case of Direct delta LUW's r directly posted to Delta Queue(RSA7)and we extact the LUW's from DeltaQueue to SAP BW by running Delta loads. It degrades the OLTP performance becoz when LUW's r directly posted to DeltaQueue the application is kept waiting until all the enhancement code

    is executed.

the disadvantage here is different document changes are not summarized into one LUW in the BW Delta Queue.Hence the number of LUWs per datasource in the BW delta queue increases significantly.

Direct delta is recommended for max of 10k records. more than that the LUWs can cause a dump during extraction.

Hope you got you answer now.

If you are doing logistics, check transactions LBWQ and RSA7 in ECC environment. That should list down data sources which use delta queues.

    Hi Lakshmi,

When you activate the extract structure, extraction queue starts collecting transactional data immediately after activation of exctract structure which is transferred to delta queue only after a successful initialisation.

Once you run this it will fetch entire records from the Source, delta will be automatically enables, so next time onwards only delta will be coming to BW. To request deltas, you need to have initialized the delta process.

    Hope it can help you.

    Regards,

    Subhash
