Why JAVA is required in SAP SRM 5

Hello Every one,

Why do we require Java stack as the part of process in SRM? What is the requirement of JAVA on the SRM system in terms of functionality being used?

I want to know importatnce of JAVA in SAP SRM 5.

Hi,

Java is required because the approval preview uses applets to show the graphical approval.

From SRM 7.0 on this is not required anymore.

For SRM itself let say. If you use Portal then maybe will be required but this is other area then.
