Technical Monitoring: How to bind CCMS Security Logon Metrics in Tech. Monitoring

Hello,

we use Solman 7.1 SP5 and want to monitor the events from security logon(transaction SM20) and syslog (transaction SM21) with the new technical monitoring.

So I have configured this steps:

TA sm_setup -> technical monitoring -> step 4 (template maintenance) -> edit -> export mode -> technical instance -> SAP ABAP 7.00-7.03

Create Custom Template -> name : Z_Security -> Tab metrics ->  create metrics

Tab OVERVIEW

Name metric: Z_Security_Alert

Category: Exceptions

Class: Metric

Data type: String

Unit: Entries

Tab Data Collection

Collection interval: minute

Data Collector: RFC (Pull) (Which RFC connection the system use?)

Data Provider: CCMS MTE + Object Name

Parameter ID: GRANULARITY: 1 Minute

Parameter ID: KEY_FIGURE: Security

Parameter ID: Object Name: Logon

Tab Threshold

Default Threshold Setting: Info Only

So, I put a system to managed object and see the metric in the graphical interface, but the monitor doesn't collect any data.

The basis configuration for technical monitoring is green and we see a lot of measure parameters.

What is the issue? A wrong configuration?

Hi Jan,

for CCMS scenario Data collection, RFC pull is the correct one.

What you define in the asignment tab.

and review the configuration and further settings using this below guide

Dear Jansi,

Thank you for your answer. But I don't get any value in my monitor. I read the presentation, but don't find a solution.

So, I have made a copie of the metric Frequency of System Log messages and change the paramter MTE_CLASS from R3SyslogFreq to SecurityLogon (with the same alert definition).

No result. Do you have a another idee?

why dont you create the new metric, instead of copying?

My suggestion you follow the document, it is clearly stating how to collect CCMS metrics,
