Hi,

Recently I have come across an issue in which my client has given me two list of materials for first list he wants to have no batch search strategy and for another list want batch search strategy. So how do we update or deactivate batch search strategy for a material?

Also for materials having batch search stratgey he want to have sort rule. So how do we atach this?

In one of the files he has also given screenshots of LS51/VCH1 transaction indicating sort button.

THanks,

Ritesh

Dear Ritesh,

Can you give some more details about the list of materials,

1)Are the list of materials both batch managed but only automatic determination of batch should not happen

2) Both list of materials are of same material type

Considering the inputs you have provided the Search Strategy can be set on the material level.

SPRO-->Logistics General-->Batch Management-->Batch Determination and Batch Check

Here you can create new access Sequence as per the requirement or can use the standard SD01 for maintaining the condition records at the material level.

Once the Access sequence is ready you can assign it to the Strategy type which is assigned to the Batch Search Procedure.

You can then create the Sort Sequence and assign the relevant Characteristics to determine the Batch selection.

The Characteristic is defined in the Tcode CT04 and is assigned to the Class defined in the Tcode CL01.

After this the masters can be maintained in VCH1 for the Strategy type defined for the key combination for e.g. at the Material level. In the screen you will find the push buttons Selection Criteria and Sort where you can maintain the Class in the Selection criteria tab and the Sort sequence in the Sort tab.

So for the records maintained the batch determination will take place automatically.

Hope this is useful. Let know if any clarification is required.

Karthik
