DG: Q no. in label for mixed packing

Hello Members,

In case of mixed packing of multiple dangerous goods in one packing, how SAP DG solution can help in calculating the Q value of the pack to be output on the overpack label?

Also, in case Q value comes out to be greater than 1, are standard checks available for shipping/shipment blocks?

Thanks,

Pavan

    Dear Pavan

I asume we are talking about this:

    http://bureauofdangerousgoods.blogspot.de/2011/09/what-is-q-value-for-dangerous-goods-air.html

    Regarding your question:

In case of mixed packing of multiple dangerous goods in one packing, how SAP DG solution can help in calculating the Q value of the pack to be output on the overpack label?

Also, in case Q value comes out to be greater than 1, are standard checks available for shipping/shipment blocks?

The story "starts" in my opinion in EH&S core and then go over to DG filling and the use of DG master in sales process (there you would like to apply blocks or not) and print something on documents. Correct?

If I understood you correct: we call your example a "multi component set". Most important example are "glues" (two component glues); second important example: corp protect agents (there are many more examples) you have two materials which are in one separte packaging and to use it as a glue you mix them immedeatkly before the use. You can have examples there you can buy the materials together (in one packaging which combines them physically) etc.

In any case: to deal whith such a demand is "hard core DG" and you need a project (a suitable solution ois found in most cases) and the solution depends on company and their use of SAP. Some decide that in the DG filling algorithm (by some clever function modules) that in the DG master only the "more dangrous" goods information is stored and than later printed on documents etc.

To make it short: I believe there is no SAP standard solution and because of complexity any company decide in this case different

Regarding your last question: i do not know any SAP standard solution for DG blocks

May be somebody else have further clever ideas

    C.B.

    • Hi Pavan,

      Very interesting topic!

I have the same requirement in my business today.

Did you find any clever ABAP solution to calculate this Q checks, as (before read this topics) the same feeling about the SAP standart.

Do you use HU on your SD/LE process ? (HUPAST). I guess this check as to be perform at this step...
