Barcoding error while assigning a document to infotype in PA30

Hi Gurus,

Please help me with this scenerio.

We have a require where we need to upload documents and assign them to a particular infotype in PA30 and then do the storing in IBM content server using Archive link.

While we are trying to upload a document, which is located in our local disk, and then trying to assign to an infotype, we are getting a Pop-up asking for bar code. As requiremnt is to assign the document to infotype without Bar code, we disabled the bar code (by doing SPRP settings).

Now while assigning it to infotype, we are getting different error. A pop-up is coming asking for "Date of Origin". When we give the date and click "continue", it is giving an error below saying "Barcode recording is not possible". So we could not actually assign the document to infotype,

These are the steps we followed:

-> in PA30, give the personnel number who doc we want to upload.

-> Select infotype

-> Go to extras -> Assign Facsimile

-> Select document type

and next, coming this pop-up asking for "date of origin" and when we give date and contiune, it is giving error "barcode recording not possible".

Can anyone please help us with this situation.

In the SAP Standard it is not possible to tie original documents to specific personnel numbers in the PA30 transaction. The only exceptions are two specific scenarios where you can tie original documents in the PA30 transaction:
1. late storing with bar code
2. late storing without bar code
During both scenarios you start out in the Trx PA30. If the bar code entry is deactivated the actual key data will have to be transferred to the document in any case, otherwise you will be asked to enter a barcode  again. Therefore the document would be transferred to the scanning location and then assigned to a specific business object.
Unfortunately it is NOT possible to upload a document directly into archive in the PA30 any other way.

So PA30 can not be used for storing infotype specific documents. Via the  special scenarios mentioned above, you are able to assign documents to the specific infotypes but the storing has to be completed outside of PA30.

Using the option Extras -> Assign facsimile in PA30 will be interpreted by the system as start for late scanning with barcode thus the error message.

But this is the same reply we got from SAP when we raised OSS message for this.

We are getting (barcode recording not possible) error while assigning the document(stored in local disk) to an infotype using PA30 and how can we get rid of this error?

Unfortunately it is NOT possible to upload a document directly into archive in the PA30 any other way.

You can try the T-CODE OAOH to fulfill your request.

So you mean to say, using PA30 it is not possible to assign the document to infotype. rite?

Uploading a document directly into archive - does that mean assigning the document to infotype?

Using OAOH, can we assign document to infotype?
