SLD, PI or Solution Manager?

Hello,

I have this scenario:

One Solution Manager and one PI, with dev and pro. I want reduce SLD´s. My options are:

A central SLD on PI pro

A central SLD on SolMan

Two SLD´s, one in PI pro and one in SolMan.

What is the best option?

Fidel.

What version of SAP PI and Solution Manager you are running?

Once I have this info I can suggest you something good.

    Thanks

    Hi Fidel,

I believe you should separate PI and Solman SLD's for the reason that Solman can be used in variety of use cases. Separating PI SLD from Solman SLD and having a proper synchronization strategy between PI and  Solman reduces the interdependency and separate out the use cases. Although it depends on your current use cases for Solman, I would go with the below approach:

Two SLD´s, one in PI pro and one in SolMan

I prefer always different SLD's for each environment(dev/qual and Prod).

I fyou have solution manager then use SOLAMN to administrateh system.,

First of all, you should rule out "A central SLD on SolMan". With current Solman capabilities, I would recommend not to make Solman SLD as the primary SLD.

This leaves you to 2 options, central PI SLD and separate SLDs. I have seen landscapes with both the designs. Separate SLDs have ease of managing separate Systems specific to the environments and keeping it clean but it increases the Basis work in terms of adminstration/upgrade/synchronizations. I, personally, am more inclined towards central PI SLD.

    Kind regards,
