You do not need to install developer workplace in your scenario .Bottom line you do not require this for installing ERP 6.0 EHP5 IDES system  Developer workplace is required for development/modification of JAVA code.

For installing the ERP 6.0 EHP5 IDES system

Refer this link

https://pgwshop.sap-ag.de/scripts/wgate/ww2020cc02ef/~flN0YXRlPTI2NDEuMDAxLjAyLjA0====?~okcode=WCLG&...

Also refer the notes mentioned .Note 1601314 - IDES ERP 6.0 incl. EHP5

I believe you are running the pre-requisite check tool . Do not select developer workplace while doing.

Please paste the screen that you get at that step for us to clarify your doubts.

Once you complete the SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 AS ABAP installation , then you install the SAP NW 7.02 JAVA  which are compatible and deploy ERP business packages . When you do the install the system , please install the vendor JDK . Once you complete the installation switch to SAP JVM 4.1 latest SP . You do not require Developer workplace for the AS JAVA system . The developer workplace is only required if you want to develop you own java application or modify SAP standard JAVA code. But at this point you do not require that and you should be good to start with the standard SAP functionality.
