Urgent: Hiding a column in POWL for all users

Former Member

Dear Experts,

We are on SRM 7.01. Under the POWL for Shopping Cart, i wish to hide the column 'Component Type' for all users. I have already had a look under SAP SRM ->Cross application Basic Settings ->POWL and Advanced Search->Adjust POWLLayout , Search Criteria, and Push Button. However I could not find the 'Component Type' button there.

How can this be achieved?

Thanks

I know that we can hide this column by using the 'settings' button, but we want to achieve this for all users as a default.

Thanks

Hi John,

please check and implement note 1390843, there is a manual step in there.

Hi John,

Go to SPRO,

Cross-Application Basic Settings->POWL and Advanced Search->Adjust POWL Layout, Search Criteria, and Pushbuttons

Select your relevant feeder class and click on field catalog. You can delete whichever column you dont need from here.

Hi Naveen,

I have already stated in my query that I have had a look under SAP SRM ->Cross application Basic Settings ->POWL and Advanced Search->Adjust POWLLayout , Search Criteria, and Push Button. I did open the feeder class but could not find the 'Component Type' button there.

Hi Robin,

Thanks. The note you suggested is for SRM 7.0. We are on SRM 7.01.

Hi Ritesh,

I followed your steps, and had a query. When I save the resultant view, can I transport these changes to another client? Or should I save it as a local object?

Hi John,

these are manual settings, just check those manual settings if they are applicable also to SRM 7.01 (and they are, because in our system those manual settings haven't been done either and the field is shown here as well).

The include for that field isn't added to the switch mentioned in the note in SRM 7.01 SP 7.

Hi John,

Please check with your Basis person if they have disabled the transport creation on webdynpro, because whenever you will define a variant through about step with layout configuration, You will ask for transport. Please find below screen shot.

Hello John,

You can easily do that by defining a variant for every user by hiding column. Here are the steps;

  1. Start transaction POWL_QUERY and switch to Details for a selected query.
  2. Press the 'Layout variant' button.
  3. A browser window for the POWL_MASTER_QUERY will start up.
  4. Change the sap-config-mode from "X"  to "config" within the URL.
  5. Now you can define your layout variant and save your changes.
  6. Additionally, you can perform the following two steps if you want to use your layout variant as default variant:
    • Logon to customizing client and start transaction POWL_QUERY.
    • Assign your created layout variant in selection field 'Layout'.

Hope this helps.

Thank you
