Blocking creation of PO without material number

Hi All,

I want to block creation of purchase orders without material numbers for certain users, but they should be able to do everything else. Please let me know if this would be possible using something in the authorization part.

I was also looking at the configuration for function authorization for buyers. But I am not able to understand it completely. Looking at the configuration does it mean that I need to create a new function authorization which has all the check boxes checked except for "W/o Material" and assign that function authorization to the user masters of those particular users?

Hi,

Create 'Function Authorization (Z1)', here under the 'General Parameters' uncheck the 'w/o material' tab.

Now assign this 'Z1' with Parameter ID 'EFB' to the user id for whom you want to restrict the PO creation w/o material code. Now try to create PO w/o material code with this user id, you will get the Error message '06234 - You have no authorization for items without material' and system will not allow the user to save the PO. This setting will resolve your issue.
