create users manually before SAPinst

273 Views

In the process of installing netweaver 7.0 on solaris 10 + oracle. It is said to create users manually before the installation. I'm not sure if

su -

useradd s01adm

useradd orao01

would work? (I guess not)

So I just ignored the users creation part before installation. During the run of SAPinst, it seems sidadm is automatically created, but oraodb is not. I didn't pay attention until I freeze here:

##############

An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Release 3 > SAP Systems > Oracle > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step: Unable to create account user="orao01". UX: /usr/sbin/useradd: ERROR: Inconsistent password files. See pwconv(1M). (return code 5)). You can now:

Choose Retry to repeat the current step.

Choose Log Files to get more information about the error.

Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to /temp/sapinst_instdir/NW04S/SYSTEM/ORA/CENTRAL/AS.

this is the last two lines of my cat /etc/passwd

oracle:x:100:101::/export/home/oracle:/usr/bin/bash

s01adm:x:101:105:SAP System Administrator:/home/s01adm:/bin/csh

the user oracle was the user I created before to use oracle 11.2, but I uninstalled it before trying to install sap

the user s01adm was created by SAPinst i guess.

Can anyone tell me how to manually create these two users properly? Any help is appreciated.
