"Models dropdown not populated in the connection made by using EPM Connector"

We are trying to build dashboards in Xcelsius 2008 using EPM Connector for data coming from BPC 10 NW. So far we are able to retrieve data for an EPM report. But when we try to make a connection to retrieve dimension members, the dropdown for "Models" doesn't get populated. A separate connection made to retrieve models also doesn't seem to return any values. Please advise.

Hi Swathi and other Experts,

I am also facing this issue ... has anyone figured out the solution ?

When I tried, environments are retrieved without any errors. But when I try to fetch models, I am getting the below error:

"An input/output error has occurred when trying to reach the server."

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Sushant,

If you want to use models as source then in Administration go to Model and select the 'Use as Source of Data'. This will allow this model to be used by External model as source.

Sorry for my extremely sluggish response. I am trying to hit it hard on this issue.

So far, no success.

After checking the "Use as source of data" checkbox in Model settings under BPC administration, I tried retrieving models. Nothing happened, still the same error "An input/output error has occurred when trying to reach the server."

Also, the transient query does not get generated.

What could be the reason for the transient query not getting generated ?

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Roberto,

I tried removing all security for the model but it's still not populating. My environments are populating just fine. And only for certain environments, when i try to retrieve the list of models, i get the error "An input/output error has occurred when trying to reach the server." But no matter what I do, the dropdown remains empty for any environment selected.

Have u check whether there is crossdomain.xml in your BPC server?
