Regarding visibility of custom enhanced fields in Material Master

Dear All ,

My ABAP team has added 2 customised fields on the BASIC DATA tab of the material master. Surprisingly these 2 fields are only appearing while creating material master for material type COUPONS and not FERT (Finished Products).

Is there any customisation also to be done by functionals in SPRO such that a custom enhancement done in the material master needs to be made visible for certain material types.

I have also attached screenshots for the same.

Thanks in advance

    HI,

Did you maintain the Field Selection Group for these fields in the following path:

IMG > Logistics - General > Material Master > Field Selection > Assign Field to Field Selection Groups

Once the above is done, you have tp maintain Transactional Level Field Reference under:

IMG > Logistics - General > Material Master > Field Selection > Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens

Here for MM02 check if you have made it as Hidden.

The system will check the field selection based on the following priority:

    Setting Priority

    Hide 1

    Display 2

    Required entry 3

    Optional entry 4

So if it is maintained as Hidden then it will not display these fields in MM02.

      Hi,

Now if the fields are combined with existing field selection group, you should remember that the fields present in that group will also have the same selection criteria as these fields do. Instance if these fields are required then those fields will also become required, if they are optional then they will also be optional. Other than these there will no problem.

So consider those factors while maintaining the selection.

For the field reference maintain as mentioned below:

For FERT and HALB in the field selection group maintain it as Required or Optional Entry.

For MM01/MM02/MM03 selection maintain it as Optional Entry

For all Industry Sector Field Reference maintain it as Optional Entry

For all other Material Types maintain it as Hidden

Now, the system will display this field only for the FERT and HALB Material Types.

      /Manoj
