How to check whether the payroll area is locked or not

Dear all,

Kindly let me know how can i chech the payroll area for the particular employee is locked or not.

I have to update the Infotypes for the employee and before updation i have to check the condition that the payroll area is locked or not.

Use the Infotype 3, Payroll Status... 

In that column SPRPS - Lock Indicator for HR Master Data Record
