Dear expert
while trying to hire an employee through Tcode:pa40 the connection was lost and reconnect a new code was auto generated by sap so this issue happened more than one time which lead to a lot of gaps in on our internal number range is there a solution for that issue ?
we need to use the lost numbers of our number range.
Hi
For that you have to check the lost number and set that before number as an current number and run the PA40 action again
Check PA04 trxn code and refer this thread

Hi
When you execute the trxn click on change and you can see the number ranges screen.
In that screen you need to click on two tab from last where you can change the number i.e current number.
So you can select your number range row and click on the tab where you can see the change current number and enter you last number .
If you find diffcult can you share screen shot i can guide further

Hi
Once you execute the PA04 click on change interval button and select the internal number range row
then select the interval tab and click on change number then you see that current number field will be open to enter the last number so that when you start running the PA40 the next number will generate
e.g 123 is my last empl hiring ID, so if I hire next emp it will be 124
Let us know if you are finding any difficult
Hope this will help

Hi
As per my above example if 10004 is maintained as current number and when you run hiring system will give 10005 (coz it is availbale) and if you try again system will check the next available number if 10006 is occupied then it will check 10007 etc..but as per the thread you have missing at random places so you have to follow this process by maintainig the current number and hire and fill those emp id
